The History of Creekside Produce
- Written by Joshua P. Bilskemper
I started Creekside Produce when I was only in fifth grade, only selling pumpkins at the time.
After the first year, I soon realized that I loved growing and having fun out in the garden, and never wanted
to stop. So during the next few years; family, friends, and other people started requesting not just pumpkins, but the
whole fall produce collection consisting of pumpkins, squash, gourds, and corn. I listened and took many of these requests
and ideas, and made them reality. After the squash, gourds, and corn were added to the mix, Creekside Produce began
to develop and take root.
As the years past, Creekside Produce decided to venture into the markets of La Crosse and the surrounding
areas, thus spreading the name of Creekside Produce to the citizens of La Crosse. This was a huge step for Creekside
Produce because I had never done anything like this before, and was not sure if the markets were the right thing to do.
Guess what, they were the right thing to do...In that one year of attending the markets, Creekside Produce grew like ragweed.
The markets were great, fun, and a great why to meet new faces. The following year I decided to attend again, and having
some knowledge of the first year attending, the second year was even more fun.
2009 is the eighth year that Creekside Produce has been running, and I plan for it to keep on growing and
never die. Creekside Produce has been through a lot, and at this point, I like telling people that Creekside
Produce does have history, and will keep on making history.
At this time I would like to thank; Arn Trussoni and Family for all the help and support that they have
given me, my father, Patrick, for all the help he has given me at the markets and in the garden, and my customers, whom have
supported Creekside Produce for these many years. Myself and Creekside Produce give many thanks to all of you...
